hi everyone.
im looking to buy a new external portible hd.
does anyone have any suggestions on a external hd that has a good price/preformance ratio. im looking for something small, slim, and with a decent amount of storage (60-80 gb). something not too expensive.

iv seen some for sale but they were brand names i dont recognize and im not sure if i should get them.

there is a nice seagate (ST960801U2-RK) but its a little costly for only 60 gb.

if anyone has any suggestions please let me know

You could buy an internal drive and an external enclosure. That will cost more than the cheapest pre-built one, but you'll know what you get.

Since 99% of all hard drives are made by 5 companies (Seagate, Western Digital, Hitachi, Maxtor, Samsung), no matter who the name on the enclosure is, it's one of those 5 inside... Since all 5 are reasonable quality it doesn't make a lot of difference (personal preferences and experiences aside).
