i just reformatted my computer. now everytime i play a game, it just stops randomly. i could play some games longer than other. i playted hl2 for about an hour and half, and i play warcraft 3 for only about 5 minutes

my specs are:

MB: Asus K8V se deluxe
RAM: 2 x 512mb crucial 8t
CPU: AMD athlon 64 2800+
GPU: Powercolor Radeon 9600 Pro(i think its xt)

Why did you reformat? Was the computer acting normally before?

Assuming it was fine before, I'd suspect you just haven't loaded all the proper drivers for the motherboard and peripherals. Assuming you are using Windows, it has a lot of drivers included, but they really aren't the best ones to use.

Download all the latest drivers for the motherboard, video card, sound card (if applicable) and any other peripherals. Also make sure you have downloaded the latest version of DirectX and so forth to get your Windows installation up to date.
