Disable Start Bar registry tweak?

At work we have 4 networked PCs all running W2K which run an application
when the user logs on. The desktop has been disabled through the registry
key NoDesktop in the users Hive as well as denying them access to the task
manager and a few others.

However if they double left click on part of the screen that the application
does not cover, it brings up the start menu (where the mouse pointer is when
they double click) from which they can gain access to the computer we are
trying to deny them access to!

Is there anyway to disable the start menu appearing or disabling double left
clicking on the desktop?

I ask as we have had to reconfigure 2 of the machines as one individual
thought he knew a thing or 2 about computers and trashed both!

Thanks

Hi W1dge,

If the users of these machines are only going to be using this one program,
why not make your program the default shell for Windows?
This can be accomplished by changing one entry in the registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

Set the Shell value to c:\yourpath\yourapp.exe

Hope this helps,

Thanks for the tip. I will give it a try next week when I get a chance to
have a mess around
