I’ve got a new system board here, it’s an Intel based server board by Gigabyte using a standard P4 processor.

The problem is, I plug it in and it turns on after 10 seconds or so.

I’ve disconnected everything and even pulled the board out of the case (incase of a short somewhere causing the problem) and it still happens with only the 2 power connectors connected. I’ve tried two different power supplies, from 2 brands, and same thing. These are 2U server power supplies (a 430W and a 600W, non-redundant) if that makes a difference. The PS does not turn on on it’s own without the power connector to the MB.

Any ideas?

Maybe the option in BIOS for restore after power loss (or whatever it is called) is set as computer ON..

If not, then all I can say is that it is better to have a computer that turn or and wont turn off than one that turn off and won't turn on again ..

Make sure that all of your power button and restart button connections are plugged in correctly because my friend had the exact same problem that I fixed in like 5 min.
