Heh, I'd read that one - what's really amazing is the one family sat with 'their daughter' in a coma for weeks - looking at her every day - and still didn't recognize that it wasn't their daughter.
I'm not surprised by the burial - I don't look inside the casket except at the wake (open casket assumed - I don't peek at all if its closed), but the family in the hospital...
I wasn't aware they allowed you to look if it's a closed casket, unless you're immediate family.
The thing that gets me is the family sitting there for 5 weeks. I mean, seriously, could you have not noticed something about your daughter? Assuming her face was bandaged, I'm sure they helped bathing their daugther, cutting her nails, maybe even shaving?
Yeah, my nursing friends tell me that parents come in and shave their kids, male/female. I guess it helps them feel better, taking care of their kid again, etc.
I dunno, 5 weeks of leg hair growth eh? You tell me what that would be like.

Hence my 'not peeking'... :?

I'm chalking it up to denial.
My confusion as well...
I really feel for the family who thought their daughter was alive... Now they find out she isn't. Hell, I feel for all the families, but them most.
