Most certain way is open your case and look:

Ide looks like this:http://www.tomshardware.com/2005/11/23/pc_interfaces_101/page15.html

Sata looks like this: http://www.tomshardware.com/2005/1 [...] age14.html

Older computers will have only ide, newer ones prob use sata but they can have both.

Can also check in the bios
