Are you happy with the x1800xt? I don't know what the deal is but my new computer which has the 1800 runs about the same as my old agp ati9800 pro. I can't figure out whats going on with it. I play eq2 and see basically no upgrade in performance. I have 2gigs ram and p4 3.2 ht and a asus p5ld2 deluxe mobo and can't run game any better than my old computer with 1/2 the ram a 2.6 p4 and a agp 9800 pro.

crossfire was supposed to be made to match with any card to try and one up the nvidia sli configuration.

i think that you can add the x1300 without penalty but might check ati's website

My HiS XT1800XT is on fire. Runs stable at 690mhz core, and 1600mhz memory!

i thought that it had to be the same type of card? like, 1800xt with another 1800xt, x850 with another x850 and so on. the only difference with nvidia sli is that sli requires an identical card, ie. same type, same brand, same amount of memory. whereas crossfire is flexible enough to allow a board of a different brand, different amounts of memory etc, as long as its the same chip. or something like that.

my two cents.. well at least thats as much as i understand.

You have to get a cross fire edition card and then put it with a normal card in a cross fire board. Then it will work.

no that was before the release of Driver 81.95....SLI no longer needs the same brand at all ....

I am sure you could flash your 1800 to a 1300 and then crossfire them...
but why?

While CrossFire doesn't require the same memory OR brand to work, it IS restriced by family. Meaning a X1800XT can only go with another X1800 card, like a X1800XL.

Well ratty i dont know why cause a x1800xl can run cs-s 1024x768 Full AAA and HQ-AF With max HDR no problem. It most be something with your format like i said in your other post.
