I want to rebuild my computer from ground up with a few components from my old computer. I have a P4 2.8c gh HT cpu, a ddr400 GeIL Value 512MB(buying another one). Just bought a COOLER MASTER eXtreme Power RS-430-PMSR/P Max: 400W, and COOLER MASTER Centurion case with side panel window. And i need to know what motherboard/grapic card should i buy with these compents since i want it to be a game machine. I liked my oldi 9800pro but i willing to try other cards for performance/cost effencient since i think i want to travel with pci-e direction.

Thank you for the replies before hand, Albert

What's your budget?

A new graphics card is what will do most. And another 512MB.

Moving to a PCI Express motherboard will be safer for future upgrades since AGP will disappear soon.

I would suggest an AMD64/Opteron if you want to change motherboard.

For gaming...
1. Mobo: Asrock 939Dual for around $68
2. Get another 512MB of that Geil for around $40.
3. A64 3200+ (Venice)for $161
Total: $269 plus shipping.
Use the 9800Pro for now and you can upgrade the video card when you have a few more dollars or the 9800Pro is no longer good enough.
