Ok the thing is i have 2*512MB geil golden dragon pc3500 ran atm. theyre running at 2-3-3-6 (spd).

Now since i play World of Warcraft, i would really like some more ram.
I have an AMD 64 3200+, Asus A8N-E, Asus X800XL.
I dont really overclock anymore since i have my computer almost passively cooled.

Normally i would just find some ram that are very close to these, timings vise etc. but i am very low on cash atm :(

So what would it mean performance wise, if i bought 2x512MB pc3200 value ram that could only do 2.5-3-3-7. (i guess id have to set all ram to the lowest setting 2.5-3-3-7 in BIOS right?)

Or should i really try and find the last 40$ and get thse G.Skill
http://www.gskill.com/f1-3200phu2-zx.html That can do 2-3-3-6 as my own?

I doubt the performance difference would be huge; I'd buy the value ram, run some benchmarks and if I liked it I would keep it. Otherwise if you didnt like the value ram's performance you could always return it. That rig of yours has an x800XL, with a card like that mixed with the rest of your PC I dont see how WoW can give u problems. My friend does great in WoW with his athlon xp 2200+, 1gb ram, and a 9600.

Well WoW really likes memory. sure i can play fine, but when it comes to the city Ironforge and the auction house. theres really no substitute for more ram.

right now my commit charge (K) is 1.229.868 (not 100% sure that has anything to do with it though hehe)

but running wow with alot of addons, running Meedio and downloading at the same time takes up 1 gig reaaaaly fast!

Isnt the lag in lagforge caused by the fact there are a lot of players there so the servers get overworked and thus they lag. So its it a matter of network lag instead of system memory?

True thats a part of it, but trust me 2gig in wow really makes a big difference.

I found a freind who is willing to buy my ram blocks, so im gonna try the Kingston ValueRAM 2 x 1 GB - KVR400X64C3AK2/2G

I know theyre the cheapest there is out there, but people iwe talked to say they can do 2,5-3-3-7-1T at stock speed and volt.

As i said in the beginning i wont be overclocking anyways so i hope this is a good choice :D
