I saw a TV commercial for a car that had a place to hook the ipod up.. lame.
When those things start dying in 1-2 years, people will get over them.. just like palm pilots, etc.
This will probably be closer to the trail end.. not much more they can do with these things until they add internet browsing to the damn things. No sense in upgrading or buying a new one.
well... the ipod connector sells cars. one of the only reasons I bought the car I have now is because it had an ipod dock. it may be stupid, but BMW, VW, and a slew of other manufacturers are selling it as an option.
but I do agree they're beginning to run out of options for the ipod. latest rumor is apple is working on an ipod cell phone. i'd buy one...
I hear the internal HD ones fail at about 2 years.. the flash ones last longer.
I wouldn't want to buy something like that with moving parts in it.
i've only had one (hard drive) iPod go bad on me... and it was the battery. I still have an 1st gen iPod that works just fine. battery even holds a full charge.
i've never actually seen an ipod' hdd go bad. but i'm sure they do. just saying i've never experienced it. it's the farking batteries that flake out.
but yeah, for a cell phone, a hdd might be a bad idea. i'm sure we've all dropped our cellphones on more than one occassion. however, samsung has been selling a cell phone w/ a 4GB hdd for over a year now. they're not avail. in us, but i've read they do just fine when dropped.
My wifes got a Nano. When I bought it I was told the batteries have a fairly
high failure rate because people don't fully charge them everytime. They'll
charge a little here and there leading to an early death. But, this was also
someone at CompUSA...
I'll go in there and pick up some equipment for work, some moron will try to shuffle me over to the 'business' section to save me some money. I'll spend $800 and save $40-$50.
Yet I'll spent 30 minutes in line while the cashiers are sitting there bored. I tried it twice.. after that I started telling the guys to leave me alone, my time is worth more than waiting for some guy in a tie to give me a small discount.
"But it's our business department, they'll give you savings." "Yes, I know. I don't have time to wait 30 minutes for a few dollars when I can cash out and leave in 2. No thanks, leave me alone."
Please don't feel inhibited, we're all friends here. It was written in plain English, if you need help with the translation have a word with Aubie, he seems more than able to cope with English.
My 4 year old mp3 player still works and it's smaller than the nano. I have 100 some songs on it and I still have 50% of the space left.
This iPod craze will end shortly.. all a bunch of focking zombies now.
Um....no, my playlist i have setup for just everyday use when i want some music is 400+ songs long....and its missing a lot fo stuff.
I could load a 60GB ipod twice.
Personally i dont care about the video one with the tiny screen, but i could use some space.
Ipods arn't that good, i LOATHE iTunes, LOATHE!! But i like the general size shape and looks of an ipod.....I have huge hands and the nano gets a little out of control, but a video is about right.
