i believe im close to solving my heat problem... the vcore is running at 1.57 volts... the amd 3700+ socket 754 runs at 1.5 volts... could THIS be the source of my heat problem and if so... i can regulate the voltage my cpu gets, should i limit it to 1.5? or could this not give it enough power and cause problems?

PS.. speedfan shows a Vcore1 and a Vcore2, vcore 2 is over 2.5 volts?...

temps for amd3700+ w/ thermaltake silent boost

50 idle
65 full load (F@H)

system is still stable... people have told me there temps with same cooler and there more than 15C colder

Take the HSF off completely. Clean the CPU core and HS base with some 70% + alcohol. Get some thermal paste if you don't already own some: Apply it to the CPU core and reattach the HSF correctly

have done that already, im sure its in correctly the thermaltake silent cooler only fits in one way, theres no way to make it so it isnt latched down because theres a lever and its down in the locked position, i cleaned the cpu with 70% rubbing alchol as well as the heatsink

i dont think cleaning the processor should solve the problem.Only the surface of the cpu should be clean.
Maybe it could be the voltage problem.why dont you just go to the bios and configure the cpu vcore voltage to something aroung 1.4V.
Normal vcore voltage is at or below 1.45volts.

i was talking with some people about vcore earlier a while ago and they said it was 1.3 - 1.4v too, i looked at the proc specs and it said for socket 754 amd64 (all of them) the vcore is supposed to be 1.5v... in bios its set to auto so it should determine what the best settings are for it... so im convinced thats its a temp error..
