Ok. Not totally fried. Suddenly, when I boot, I get garbage over the boot text. When windows loads, its 4 thick vertical bars spaced evenly across the screen. When I push on the video card, like with my hand, it clears up.

It seems its not seated properly, but I have removed it, cleaned it and the AGP port, and I still get it.

Any ideas. I assume Vid card or Motherboard. Could this be a monitor problem. My monitor is ancient, but my MB and Vid Card are fairly new.

Motherboard: IC7-G Abit
Video Card: ATI AIW 9700
Monitor: Don't know, but it was used to show movies on the ARK

Thanks in advance

I once had a crappy S3 Virge 2mb pci video card and i installed it into an extremely tight case (had to force it in) and it booted but the wires on the vpu broke (about 10 of em) from the force cause the case forced the pcb to bend and the card still worked but had lines and crap cause of it and it worked when i put pressure on it.

Id say somethings busted, check the pcb and everything for damage or loose items.

Yeah, I'd assume the card's toast. Or "fried".

Only way to make sure is to try it in another working machine, but it's pretty much a 90% probability that it's dead.
