I'm waiting for socket M2 and the mobos for it with full SATA2 support and DDR2RAM. I also hope ATI does something with Crossfire, because I play RPGs and I don't think many of them will be programmed to use SLI (Crossfire works with all games). Also, I hear a 150 GB Raptor will be coming out with SATA2 and NCQ. Mostly, though, I wait 'til my rig won't play the games I like. Then I know I have to upgrade

im waiting for a decent job, so i can get my car serviced, buy some decent 2Gb PC4000 DDR and a new PCIe mobo and graphics card...

though it might be advantageous to keep the "slow" R9800pro soldiering on until the R5800 and next NV cards are out.

last time i upgraded i went from geforce2 to r9800, about 3 generations worth, so i should wait another 3 generations
r9800pro -> X8xx -> x1xxx -> R580 :)

I think I've got you beat in terms of generation jump: Geforce2 to 7800GTX :D

But ya, interms of what to wait for, it's socket M2 with DDR2 RAM. Also, Intels new offerings will also be interesting to see once they're all out there. That won't be for a long while though.
