At the moment I'm rockin an AMD Athlon 64 3200+ but I'm gonna build a new one in the next month or so. Just wondering if anyone know much about the ATI cross fire ready boards (like the ASUS A8R-MVP Socket 939) and if they are worth getting. Also what cpu ya think is best for gaming without burning over the 1000$ mark, but still kicking some ass.
Thanks

For cheap get a 146 opty for $165 or so when you see em for sale. It's still the best processor for the price. As for crossfire I don't know Nvidia has been the choice for me for a long time.

id keep the 3200+ and upgrade to a 7800gtx

Are you using a s754 agp board? If no to bothe liquidpaper is right. If yes to agp only, get the MVP and a 7800gt. The MVP should get a 3200 to OC to 2.5 or better.
If your system is s754, sell it and use the extra cash to buy a better chip.
