I had a working NT4 (SP 3) until I downloaded SP 4 onto IBM formatted Zip
disks using a Mac and installed it onto the NT4. The .exe files expanded and
seemed to load properly. On reboot, I got the blue screen after login.

Is there anyway of reviving the NT4? I do not have access to another Windows
computer.

TIA

Check that explorer.exe is the default shell to start. Look at the Reg_Sz
string value of;
"Shell"="Explorer.exe"
found at
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

You can try manually starting the shell Task Manager|File|New Task
%systemroot%\explorer.exe

To check Event Viewer for errors. Try running Task Manager|File|New Task
%systemroot%\system32\eventvwr.exe
