Should i use onboard sound or my old sb audigy? I know my sound card is old and i just ordered a new mobo the asus a8nsli32. I have no idea how the new onboard sound compare to the old sound cards?

Thanks,

I still have my old Audigy and thats 100x better than onboard sound.

Plus with the audigy you get to use EAX and EAXHD and stuff like that.

Very well put DRAGoNX :trophy:

I would say my SB Live MP3 is 1000 times better than onboard sound so your audigy must be at least 2000 times better!!! :D

So what would my X-Fi Platinum be? 10000000x better?

I have a Vortex2 model SQ2500, and it sounds better than an Audigy, at least when you take five minutes to adjust it to match your speakers. And I still use onboard sound rather than the SQ2500.

Thanks i guess i'll uses my old sound card. It would seem that today most sound card manufacture would use the SB audigy as the standrad on high end mobos or don't include onboard sound at all?

Manufacturers are too cheap to spend that much money on a sound chip!

They usually use the cheapest thing they can get their hands on!

Onboard chips sell for a few bucks if that.

An SB Live or Audigy still sells for 15, 30, 50 bucks.
