Hi Guys

I'm trying to set up nt4 on a clean m/c, after going into i386 and
typing winnt /b, I'm getting the message "windows has disabled direct
disk access to protect your long filenames. To override this
protection, see the LOCK /? command"

What's going on? and how do I fix it?

Best regards
Tony

Did you format the partition with FAT32? NT4 doesn't understand this file
system. Regarding 'lock' command just run 'lock c:' to unlock C: drive.

Hi there,

No, I formatted with FAT16. The lock c: command has done the trick.

Many thanks,
Tony
