I have a DVD writer plextor PX-716A which is connected as follows:
IDE PRIM Master HD1
IDE PRIM SLAVE HD2
IDE SEC Master Plextor DVD PX-716A
IDE SEC SLAVE DVD-Rom DVD-117 Pioneer.
All devices are DMA when possible.
Before i bought my second harddisk i had no single problem with burning DVD backup's for my car DVD. I still use the same DVD burning software before as after my extra harddisk installation, which is CLONEDVD. The burning process is (as before) succesfull terminated, and cloneDVD reports no single problem. Only whenever i try to play the backup dvd onto a home dvd system (even tried on sony playstation 2) it fails. The player starts, showing ripped square textured images, and sound skips as well.
After research on internet, i found a decryptor which is able to test the dvd writer settings. Once started i've found an problem with I/O error, for the DVD PX-716A.
Can someone help me why my DVD isn't able anymore to burn a succesfull readable DVD? I saw in my DVD writer manual that the DVD writer should be connected as master device without having connected a second device on the cable. In this case i have 2 harddisks and 2 optical drives. How should i get the configuration specified in my DVD writer manual?
My problem occured after the installation of my sec. hard disk.
For additional info: Mainboard...... is
MSI ms6380
Well, I've tried to upgrade my plextors soft. firmware from V1.07 to V1.09 but i received an error while doiing this operation. I still am on V1.07 but it worked in the past.
How can i get 4 devices on 2 IDE ports, with respect of the recommendations in the manual of plextor asking to install the Plextor PX-716A as only source in MASTER config on the SEC IDE cable?
In mean while i will try to remove the Pioneer DVD-ROM, (but i believe this cannot be an options for the future. I still wanna use this DVD-ROm in the future).
Thx already 4 your help.
