i recently saw this card its called a geforce 6600LE with 256MB ram and is a PCI express card, made by this co called zebronics available in india,i wanna know how good this card is actually...its suposed to based on the NV43 core...details are very sketchy at the most in most websites...so someone please help on this issue!!!!
Is there any way (the hardware mod I read about, for example) that I can open up the extra pipeline?

Is there any software I can run/ things I can do that will get me better performance?

Hello,

It's always a good idea to go with cards may by the well known manf like Leadtek, ATI, Sapphire, EVGA, XFX, etc.

Don't go too cheap if you are planning to play games. Go for X800 XL 16 pipes, 6800 GS, or higher cards for under $200-$250. Even the x850 xt's are cheap now.

Hi.
I am an owner of a msi nx6600le 256mb pci express.

It is a budget card usually ddr1 mem core 300mhz mem 500mhz 4 pixel pipes.

I tuned it with rivatuner to 8 pixel pipes core 450mhz mem 540mhz
and i added a fan to it.

i score 55frames for doom3 1024x768 no fsaa
i score 63frames for half life 2 at 1024x768 high settings no fsaa

look here to see how it does vs a 6600gt

so if you are planning overclocking it is a possible good cheap buy.
But overclock varies a lot from card to card.
Good luck.

Agreed, I'd look for a 6600GT at a minimum, with the next jump up a 7800GT, on sale for about $280....

(I discount the 6800GT, as many are charging more for them than what a 7800GT costs, which blows it away..; if an actual 6800GT was available for $200, it'd be a deal)
