i got a free dell photo printer720 with my computer it is made by lexmark
does anyone know which lexmark ink will work with this printer. it says you
have to buy the replacement from dell but there prices are ridiculous

You have no choice. Dell have modified their units so that they will only
accept their own cartridges. IMO, I'd stick it on eBay (you probably won't
get much for it, if it sells at all) or give it away, and buy a proper
printer.

The printer is worth around £40 - that's why they give them away, they're
not losing anything. A black and a colour will set you back £50. As for it
being a photo printer, I'm afraid Dell are giving themselves airs. You don't
get photo quality for £40! In fact, I saw it on one site for just over £30.

Do yourself a favour and buy a decent printer - you can pick up a Canon
Pixma IP2000 for around £75 and the tanks are around £7 (I believe it takes
6) and there's the added bonus that you can use compatibles which could cost
around half the price.
