Can you enable "sleep mode" on external USB 2.0 ha

I have a couple of hard drives in usb enclosures that I would like to leave on all the time. I would like the drives to "go to sleep/shutdown" when my internal hard drives go to sleep (The pc is left on all the time). Is there any way to do this?

Not to my Knowledge but you may be able to change the power management features of the drive to spin down when not in use.It depends on the manufacturer of the hard drive whether or not you can do this since a few manufacturers will not distibute these utilities.
