My computer has 4 users. when I log myself or 1 of the
other users off, sometimes it tells me a program is
running. there is nothing displayed to tell me what or
where this running program is. how do i quickly find it
and/or stop it running?

Try ctrl-alt-delete, then check the applications tab, if you see nothing
there, check the processes tab. Note, many of the process are system
processes such as svchost.exe and it's not unusual to see several instances
of that process as many system functions use it.
