hi,

i want to buy a x850xt agp (just to max out what my agp board can handle before i buy a new machine with pci express), but i dont know which brand i should get.

Are they all the same?

i've seen an asus for £210 and a saphire for £250

any advice would be listened to.

thanks.

The longest lasting card I've had was a Sapphire 8500...still kickin, although I dont use it anymore.

Asus makes a good board, I've heard great review from them on the X800 and 9800 line...although I've never purchased one.

my main concern is performance, do the different brands have different speeds or are they the same?

The are all pretty much the same. Usually if there are differences then they make it quite clear with some additional naming like FireBlade edition, or Bravo edition, etc.

The funny thing is that for the X800XL the ASUS cards were all slightly underclocked compared tot heir counterparts. That sometimes happens, but it's rare, and almost always can be overcome with a little untraceable software tweaking afterwards.
