I have a problem, ever since I upgraded to an ATI X800XL, I can't get the supposed W98SE 5-9_wme_dd_cp_26397.exe drivers to work. It boots to a C:ATI folder and then just pops to a blank screen.

The card isn't the issue, I dual boot to XP Home and it runs fine. It seems that something is amiss in the driver package? I can run W98SE in safe mode and mine out every ATI driver detail with the same results after loading 5-9_wme_dd_cp_26397.exe driver package. My old 9800pro ran in the same W98SE install just fine, but the X800XL doesn't like 9800pro drivers.

Is anyone else having problems like this? I've never had issues loading drivers in the last ten years like this. I'm stumped. :?:

I don't like the way they package the drive, but anyway:

The .exe is actually a self-extracting ZIP file. Download/instal WinZip and you should be able to right click on the file and choose a place to extract it.

The extracted file should contain all the needed drivers, along with the REAL executable file for using the installer.
