I have put desktop into my quick launch bar, & i am delighted with it.
However I would like to delete the icons from the screen desktop. When I do,
they are also deleted from the quick launch desktop. Please Help!!

I don't think you can have your cake and eat it too so to speak. The button
on the Quicklaunch Toolbar you created is just a shortcut.

Just 'move' the icons from the desktop to the quicklaunch bar instead of
copying them, then you will have a blank desktop and the icons will be in a
separate toolbar.

Alternatively, create yourself a new toolbar - right click on the grey area
of windows taskbar and choose "Toolbars->new". Now move all the icons from
your desktop onto the new toolbar.

Is this what you meant??
