PATA Controller

I message comes up for me to isntall the PATA Controller. I have no idea what this is.

Do you have any PATA drives> if not disable controller.
If so, install chipset drivers from gigabyte or chipset manufacturer.

Tell you the truth i have no idea if i do or not. all my DVD drives works and everything. it would assume i dont. i turn it off in BIOS i persume?

I would imagine it is refering to your ONBOARD PATA controller--could be wrong. BTW PATA is basically an EIDE controller--we call it PATA only because SATA came out (parallel vs. serial).
