Concerning a Epson Stylus C40UX inkjet printer;

I've seen many answers about changing the ink cartridge that are all based
on the cartridge being close to empty.

No one addresses how to get the cartridge holders to the middle of the
printer regardless of whether they contain ink or not.

My problem is that I want to change cartridges, but the software thinks they
are full of ink. (They are not.) Consequently the software won't let me
override Epson's expectation that I will only want to change the cartridge
when it's close to empty.

I know about "hold the ink/paper button down for 3 to 6 seconds". That works
great if you have an empty cartridge. When it's half full, after the little
dance, the cartridge holder slides back to the right.

Hep me. hep me.

Thanks,

Ray

I am sure it is in the manual. All Epsons allow you to move the cartridge
before it is empty. Are you holding down the right button? It isn't just a
tap.
