Qualified Vendor List

Clarify please. In Motherboard guide there is a qualified vendor list for system memory which lists products from manufacturers that are compatible, however, when i log on to manufacturer website and search configurator on the motherboard a completely different product list comes up. Somebody give me some general guidelines as to how i should use the QVL's . Thanks. Any info to wisen me up would be much appreciated.

A mobo manufacture and memory manufacture would help.

QVL means all the mftr has tested as compatable, and is not complete. So others will prob work...
