Accidentally I deleted a series of digital photos and
wonder if there is anyone who knows if and how I could
restore this terrible loss...
My computer's dustbin is empty! System XP.

How did you delete those images?
If you just delete them from the Explorer window all deleted files will be
placed in Recycle Bin. You can easily restore from there any time without
worry. Just right click on the icon and select restore. In the new window
you will see all deleted files you can highlight and restore.
If you did it from the cmd line ... , than you have a problem. Deleting the
files is nothing more than changing the name in the table. Physically the
image still is there as long as you do not overwrite this space with
something else. This can be represented as changing first char in the name
to "?". There are third party software that can do it. One of them is Norton
I used long long time ago. Check the internet, but be careful using this
computer even for browsing the net. This space is free for the system and
can be used by any data computer needs to store.
