I currently have 1GB of Geil ONE series DDR 400. I want 2GB DDR 400 for both gaming and 3D Graphics (I use 3ds max and photoshop a lot).

Is this a good replacement?

The Geil timings are 2-2-2-5 1T and these are 2-3-2-5 1T and a hell of a good deal. I plan on selling the Geil if anyone's interested. It's the TCCD stuff, not the BH5. Probably on ebay.

That is a good price. Go for it. I promise you won't see a performance difference with the increased timings of 2-3-2.

I just might buy some of this stuff... I've been wanting to run my memory at 1T, but I have 4 DIMMs and can't do it.

Thanks for the link.

thanks. I already ordered them on thursday and holy crap! they're already on a truck for delivery for friday! Sales tax sucks (NJ) but unexpected overnight delivery (UPS GROUND even!) always rocks.

I'll let ya know performance numbers later tonight. Woo hoo!

Got 'em yesterday and they wouldn't run Prime95 for more than 9 minutes @ 2-3-2-5 @ 5:6 with my cpu @ 250. Had to go 2.5-3-2-5...until they had a little burn-in time under their belts.

I've been burning these bad boys in since last night. Probably a solid 16 hours worth at 2.5 and now they're currently running 2-3-2-5 (208.3) @ 5:6 with cpu (250) Prime95 stable for 6 hours and counting. Yay!

Compared to the Geils? I love 'em. Sure, I lost (very) minimal performance in Sisoft Sandra (5786/5783 vs 5743/5724) and Aquamark (93,600 vs 92,500), but after the rebate, they cost me $195. That's how much I paid for the 1GB of Geil ONEs!

So I think I can live with unnoticable loss for the sheer value these guys have.

If you know anyone who might want the Geils, they'll be up on ebay as of Sunday afternoon. They are hard as hell to find now because I have the TCCD's, not the BH-5's.

On a side note: anyone doing benchies and have a wireless adapter: DISABLE IT. You'll get a better score :)
