6600 GT vs. TD ?

What is this "TD" that I often see in 6600 card names? Is it a lot weaker than GT?

TD has nothing to do with the 6600.

I think TD stands for T = TV-out, D = DVI.

Some manufacturers use it, some don't.

What do you think is 6600 the best card for Half-life 2 etc. you can buy for about 100€ ?

SURELY NOT !!!

half-life 2 is better with ati products
and doom 3 is better with geforce products.

( and you can unlock some more doom3 performance for ati by
unzipping the texture pack from the game directory and changing some values in a specific initialization file )

you can surely find better !!!

There are better cards than the 6600 "vanilla" for $100.

I think this is the best card for around $100:

An Ati Radeon X700 or a 9800 Pro.

Remember that memory size is not that important. Which GPU and the type of memory is more important.

I would say try and find an X800GT if your can or if someone is selling a 9800XT if would much better than any nVidia card just look at these benchmarks and decide for your self!!
