I've reset my HPC because it worked to slowly but the
thing didn't react after a soft reset so I pulled out the
battery, when I turned on the device, everything was gone.
When I connected the HPC Jornada 680 to my PC, he said it
was a new handheld, when I typed the name like it was
before the crash, he said it already existed...
Is there nog any way to restore all my information, it was
only 2 days ago that I sync all data.

Syncing is not the same as backup...obviously you can sync all the calendar,
contacts, etc back on but any files will be lost. The reason activesync
thinks the partnership still exists is because it lays down folders on the
PC which are named with the name you gave the PPC. You can also delete
these partnerships through the 'File' menu in activesync

Hey, I don't want to sync data, I want to restore.
Normally when a HPC crashes (which is quite normal) you
must have a back-up on your PC, I have one but I can't
restore all the data from the back-up to my handheld PC.
Does anyone know where the PC stores these back-up, maybe
I can put all the lost data manualy on my mobile device?
There's also a function in my HPC where I can back-up AND
restore all data to a CF-card, so when I'm able to find a
back-up I can put it on a CF card and do it like that
maybe?
Thanks

I have a Jornada 547 which may be a little different, but it stores the
backups by default in a file called "All Backup" in the root directory
of the device. Look for a file by that name, or something similar, in
the top-level directory on your PC. You should be able to copy it to a
CF card, then run restore. Restore will let you browse to where the
backup file is located, but if I'm not mistaken you need a directory
called "My Documents" on the flash card, which will correspond to the
root directory on your PDA. Good luck........
