win tv card lost sound

Hello all

few days ago my father lost the sound on his win tv card, he can play songs with media player and such and have sound, but when he watches the tv via his card or listens to the radio via the card there is no sound... I'm looking for a fix for this, however I can't really update the software, the computer used is his computer for work (dentist) and there is software on it to scan the x-ray pictures, this software gives a lot of errors when you try updating a component or something. So anyone who has an idea what might cause this error? Everything worked perfect 2 weeks ago

what card is it and does it use an external loop cable? check that sound for line in or aux (or whatever else) isnt mute.

well I checked the wintv2000 software and everything looks ok, however the only ccables connected to the card is:
The tv cable, an audio antenna, and the infrared receiver? There is a line in port on it to but there is no cable in there?

About the card type: I couldn't find a version of the card anywhere, it is a pci version taht's all i know for now sorry about the lack of information
