Hi,
At work we have recently, (6 months ago), purchased a new colour laser
printer. 2-3 people use it, five days a week and so is subject to a
moderate/slightly heavy amount of printing. We have changed the black
toner 3 times and the colour toners about one time each, this should
give you an idea of how much we use it.
Last week it broke down, and keeps flashing to tell us to replace the
OCP belt(?). After speaking to Brother they told us that an OCP belt
is £300, and lasts for about 22,000 A4 sheets.
We are now deliberating as to whether or not to replace it, as £300
seems quite a substantial amount to spend every 6 months.
I have used colour laser printers in several previous jobs and have
never come across an OCP belt before. I was wondering if anyone would
be able to advise me as to what one is? Whether they exist in all
colour lasers? and if 6 months/22,000 sheets is a reasonable length of
time before you replace it?
As I am sure is blatantly obvious, I am not a very technical person
when it comes to printers so I apologise if this is a really stupid
question.
Any help of this matter would be really appreciated.
