Opteron's having problems with MOBO's

I just read that Opteron's have more problems with MOBO's? Is this true? I mean since they are more of a server than and home pc. Has anyone with Opterons run into any kind of problems with MOBO's? I plan on getting a Opteron, but if this happens then I would rather go with x2 4400.

Seems to work fine on my ASUS A8N SLI (non deluxe). wasnt listed as a supported processor but is recognized by full name during post and CPU-z. stable and no problems, with the dual core patch everything runs perfect.
