Im looking to build a new comp for the main purpose of drawing and rendering large 3d models in Rhino and autocad. Since this is going to be an expensive build i have to get it right the first time! What would be the best cpu,mb,graphics solution for this kind of workstation? Any help here would be greatly appreciated. I have done a ton of research but i need to here it from someone else in case i missed something :?

Sorry about that!!! Intel or AMD? I have heard that Intel has the best cpu for cad? Is this true and if so, why??

AMD dual core runs best on AutoCAD. It has a faster math processor, which CAD eats.
I run AutoDesk LDD on a Prescott 3200 2gigs RAM and a Opteron 175 (X2-4400) with only 1gig, and everything is much faster on the Opteron in CAD and everything else for that matter.

Hello,

Aside from getting the Operton 175, also get your self a good worekstation graphics card either by Nvidia Quadro or ATI Fire GL (get the latest chipset equiv to the 7800).
