What Memory to Choose

I am really confused as to what ram to choose...there are just 3 options to choose from.

2 x 1GB Dual Channel OCZ Platinum Series DDR 500 (PC4000)
3-3-2-8

or

2 x 1GB Dual Channel OCZ Platinum Series DDR 400 (PC3200) Rev 2
2-2-2-5

I am going to use my machine for mainly multi Tasking and maybe some racing games..and FPS maybe....I am not going to OVerclock

MY QUESTION.

which one to use to get the best perfomance out of the box... and explain why please...

Then why the expensive high speed RAM... Get Corsair value, does what is says on the tin...

if you're not going to OC, then get low-latency DDR like the OZC 3200 with 2-2-2-5 timings. You'll get better bandwidth than the corsair. Newegg has a great deal on the OCZ rev 1 with 2-3-2-5. Check out my post for the link.

ok... got you james and krazy.

now lets say ur going to overclock the cpu at a later stage maybe 2 yrs from now....which willl give a better overclock and speed.. the reason of asking is... right now i will have a an X2 4400+....maybe later i might overclock it.....so thats why i wanted to know is latency better or speed better...
