Hi ,
I currently have a msi kt4av-L mobo (KT400 North bridge). I disposed the manual a few days ago and the site doesnt state the max supported capacity. currently i am on a 120 gig 7200 rpm baracuda. I am planning to get another 120. so.

1) Does any one know maximum supported capacity.

When i got my computer setup a few years ago , this is how i had formatted the drive. In Dos i formatted around 20 gigs , installed xp , from xp i had formatted (quick format) the remaining space. currently (10 gig c: (fat32) every other partition is NTFS)

2)If i attach my new drive do i need to format it through dos , or the above mentioned procedure ought to do fine.

is there any thing else i should be looking out for. I just stopped messing with hardware a few years ago , so i am quite rusty on this.

Thanks!

Since you currently have a 120g on the system, a second 120 will definitely work. The max supported capacity limit is per drive, and is 137g, so your 120's should work fine.
