I feel really embarrassed (dumb) to have to ask the following question:

I need to download a driver for a new PC I received Christmas. The download offers one for 32 bit or 64 bit systems. I have searched the specifications that shipped with the unit and went to Sony's website and found nothing. I do believe it is a 32 bit system, but I am just not sure!

It is a Sony Pentium D 820, 2.8 GHz, model VGC-RB52 Can anyone tell me what I have .............please?

Click on the (My Computer) icon.

In the lefthand colume in the window you should see at the top (View System Information) click on it.

Under System it will tell you what XP you have. Be it XP Home or XP Pro or XP 64 edition or something of that garble.

Thanks Flakes / Vascular!

After reading your post, I then realized I should have known this would have referred to the OS, but I didn't. So, another lesson learned.

I didn't see anything indicating my system was a 32 bit at the System Information tab, but I do have Windows XP Home Media Edition, which means I definitely have 32 bit ................thanks for the lesson!

If you don't know if your are running a 32bit / 64bit OS, then you will be running a 32bit one.
