MY SOUNDCARD IS CREATIVE AUDIGY 2 PLATINUM A 24 BIT SOUNDCARD.

I HAVE AMD64 3200+ 64 BIT CPU ON ASUS K8M-VX MOTHERBOARD WITH PCI EX. AND OS IS WINDOWS XP SERVICE PACK II. HERE THE MOVEMENT I PUT MY ABOVE SAID SOUNDCARD ON PCI SLOT MY MACHINE EVEN DOESNOT BOOT. AND THE MOVEMENT I UNPLUG THIS CARD IT BOOTS WELL...

PLEASE GIVE ME SOLUTION ON THIS.

WHAT IS A RELATION OF 24 BIT SOUND CARD AND PCI SLOTS, DO THEY HAVE MATCHING 24 BIT OR WHAT ? YOU CAN SUGGEST SOME LINKS REGARDING THIS..... FRIENDS

Did you disable any onboard sound in the bios before installing the sound card?

PLEASE DISABLE CAPS!

ok as above disable the onboard soun dby going into the BIOS, a 24bit soundcard is the bit rating of the sound it produces(different to Kbps). basically the higher the better, i believe at the moment 24bit is the best you can get on a PC.

24 bit of the soundcard is n o t _ r e l a t e d to the 64 bit rating of the CPU.

1)Disable onboard sound in BIOS
2)Use other PCI slot
3)Try to boot PC in safe mode ( F8 )
4)Disconnect some other devices, not likely but it could be power supply problem
