I've heard of a 10% performance increase with DDR2 667. Impressive power numbers from a .09nm compared to a .065nm i must say though against the 955EE. Will AMD be giving us 3ghz X2's when they finally make the switch over to 0.065nm
Another review got their fx60 to 3.2ghz on crappy water with just a small bump in vcore.

all new CPUs make me happy

it just means all the current CPUs that everyone will be calling junk will be cheaper before long - and thats when i get to upgrade =)

both intel and amd are at it (as usual) to have the best CPU
*better luck next time Intel*

me, i dont care that my CPU will only allow a high end game to run at 150 fps instead of 190fps - i dont play the games anyhow - lets hear it for the cheap mid range CPU and the manufacturers for making them cheaper every day :)

I read the extremetech review, slower than the FX-57 by 200 Mhz [/i]BUT there are two of these guys. Cool and all, but like the post above, I care more about how it will bump down the other chips, than this one in paticular. Perhapes this may cause the 3800 X2 to get to 820 price range, and 4200 X2 into the 830 price range in a short while. Go mid range CPU chips.

May the war between AMD and Intel never end or result in a definite victory for either company.

I just had the most brilliantest iedear in the universes. I am now on the lookout for an fx-51->fx57, i will have the single fastest(swap these two words and it works too) chip in existence! And at a not so nasty as before price! I'm so incredibly exited, YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYA!

Now just need to get around to doing it, i need a job, which i might get at the nice new BT games franchise! (they are small so it is not like joining microsoft.)

Will that be 10% increase of wasted bandwidth or if the CPU will really benefit from it?? Even PC3200 is not saturated by currrent AMD..

Better multitasking and more FPS in multithreaded games.

It's hard to tell real world results right now, but AMD is marketing AM2 as providing a 400MHz PR Rating boost. When the X2 3800+ moves to AM2 it will be renamed the X2 4200+. Since it'll have the exact same clock speed and cache amount, the difference should be from the switch to DDR2. Of course, PR ratings are still PR, but they do give an idea.

The announced X2 4600+ will probably be the current X2 4200+, the X2 4800+ the current X2 4400+, and the X2 5000+ the current 4600+. I guess AMD is keeping the current X2 4800+ (future X2 5200+) in reserve until Conroe arrives.
