Hi all

I've just bought a top end PC off eBay. It comes with a 128MB Nvidia Quadro FX1100 card on board.

Currently I have a 256MB Radeon 9800SE Pro in my existing machine. I want to keep the best card and sell the other. Which one is best? I can't test them in the same machine until I get a power adapter for the Radeon as I have no more floppy power leads and the existing won't reach!

I generally play games like BF2 and Sims 2 etc.

Thanks

dude that Quadro FX1100 is like $700 the radeon is like $100, the nvidia is more for 3d and graphic developers. but if you could sell the 9800se and Quatro .. maybey you could get enough for a 7800 GTX ^^

The Quadro is NOT for gaming. Its engineered for graphic design, workstations, CAD, etc.

So for gaming, I'm not going to say the 9800SE is a great card. However it can be softmoded to a 9800pro, then it should be fine.

I kinda would like to know how you came up with the comparison for the two?
As one is highly expensive, one is cheap. One server a basic/gaming purpose, while the other is driven for professional design.

The 1100 is based on the geforce 5700. Even with the quadro drivers it'd probably game as well as a 9800 SE.

But if you're not doing any CAD, and only want games, that card is probably worth more than you think. Get rid of it on ebay, you'd probably be able to pick up a card that's MUCH nicer than a 9800 SE for the cash you get back...

Raven, reread the post, he bought the PC off ebay and already had the R9800SE :p

I agree sell the Quadro, although selling the 9800 would likely be a good idea too for current games.

And Cleeve's right, you'd get much more money selling the Quadro as a Quadro.
