Does anyone know what the USB pinouts configuration is on a Sony Viao P4SD-VX motherboard? There is a 16 pin header on the board and I can not find any information or manuals on this asus motherboard.
Thanks

You'd really have to figure that out by looking at the connector on the case.

Hi everyone,

I had the same issues and below worked for me and I wanted to share this as I did not find anything in the internet about this board. Also Sony and Asus did not reply on my mails to their support. So I searched Ebay for Sony VAIO models with this board and kindly asked the sellers to send me pictures from inside the PC, so I can figure out the PIN layout. And hey, there are nice people out there, one seller sent me the pictures.

PANEL1:

19 Pin front panel header (Power switch, HDD LED, Power LED, Standby LED):

Pin layout (01 is upper left, 19 lower right, between 14 and 15 there is no pin=key):

01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10

11 12 13 14 XX 15 16 17 18 19

The connectors from the original Sony case (PCV-RSM22) connect like this (this should also make it easy to adept to other cases):

Power Switch (white/purple):

white: 11
purple: 12

HDD activity LED:

white: 14
blue (bridged to two pins): 08 + 13

Power LED:

white: 15
orange: 16

Standby LED:

white: 01
red: 02

I hope that Sony did not mix or change things with different revisions of boards... it´s your own risk to follow above...

Here´s the pin layout for the front USB on my P4SD-VX:

USB1:

16 Pin front USB header (two USB ports, seems to be USB1.1):

01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08

09 10 11 12 13 14 15 16

01: red = 5V
02: white = D-/Data-
03: green = D+/Data+
04: black = ground

05: red = 5V
06: white = D-/Data-
07: green = D+/Data+
08: black = ground
