X800 GTO card differences???

Can someone tell me what the difference is with the PowerColor X800 16GTO and the X800 GTO is besides one having VIVO and the other doesn't. I'm hearing many conflicting stories that these are 16 pipelines and 12 pipelines. Are they trully 16 as the Tom's Hardware article states? I'm concidering buying one of these so I'm trying to figure which one is the better.

the 16 pipeline card is obviously faster vs. a 12 pipeline card.

Its performance should be similar to the x800xl.
