FS9, FSNavigator, help with auto-landing

I've set-up a (short) flight plan EGSS-EGGW just to test out the auto-pilot.
As I roll down the runway, the AP kicks in and rotates and flies the
aircraft as per the flight plan.
However, on approach to EGGW, it always comes in too low far too early and
lands (crashes) in fields [I hope!].

I've also tried auto-landing at EGSS with the same results.

Can anyone point me in the direction where I'm going wrong please?

TIA

Perhaps you landingspeed is too low. Flying in at 160 at 25 deg. flap should
do the trick.

Auto-land? FS9 does not have an auto-land feature.

In real life, very few general aviation aircraft have equipment certified to
auto-land. In real life and the sim, aircraft are required to disengage the
AP at the decision height prescribed on the published ILS approach chart.
