will the pixel shader 3 on 6800 gs make up for the 12 pipelines compared to a 16 pipelined pixel shader 2?

I'm pretty sure PS3 slows down your performance instead.... not sure though

i heard people getting up to x850 XT PE speeds with the overclocking, or are you just talking about just unlocking the pipes? yeah im haveing the same conundrum also with building a new system ill probably go 7800gt sheer price wise.i do prefer ati though.
