would anyone be able to tell me if the k7vta3 rev8.0 can handle high density ram? found a fairly good deal, but there is a 50$ restocking fee if you have to return it due to incompatability.

What version? The version 6.0/8 board will only support a maximum of 2GB. Since it has two memory slots, it will only support a DDR SDRAM of 1GB. You can go to the following site, and it shows what memory they guarantee to work with the K7VTA3
