I have amd 64 3000. 1 gig of patriot signature line pc3200 dual channel.
in a epox 939 mobo. I have my cpu oc'd at 2.4 gigs and the memory at 440mhz. prime95 said everthing is fine. it runs great! but will it hurt it any?
should I back off the oc till my memory is back down to 400mhz? :?:

"and the memory at 440mhz. "

You mean 220 MHz...

:)

If the memory hits 220 without issue, then go for it...

(Depending on your BIOS, you can select different mem clock base freqs/ratios so that your mem freq is nearer to 200 MHz if you need to....)

Different mobo's show it different ways. It's in the memory section - usually I see it as setting the RAM speed - so it'll read 200 at stock. If you set it to 166, then overclock from there (set fsb to 240 for example), RAM will run at a ratio (or divider) of 5:6, so with the fsb at 240, 5/6 of that is 200.

There's no need to use a divider if your memory is stable, but if your memory can't reach the OC you want for your CPU, you set the divider so your CPU can climb higher.
