HELP -Bluetooth Not Working

Last response: in Cell Phones & Smartphones

I use a IPAQ 1940. Suddenly when I start up my Pocket PC I get a
message that says "BTTrayCE' is not a Vaild Pocket PC Application".
Then when I go to Setting ...Bluetooth: Its says Bluetooth is OFF,
insert a Bluetooth card to turn it on."

Any idea what caused this and how I can fix it? I am worried it is
something in the registry that I may have screwed up.

Thanks a million

Might be something you have installed, but it could be a hardware problem.

First thing I would try would be to backup my device to an SD card,
hard-reset it, try Bluetooth to see if it works and then, if it does,
restore the backup and check again. The three possibilities in this case:

1. It doesn't work immed. after Hard Reset: you have some hardware problem.
2. It works after HR and continues working after restore: problem solved
3. It works after HR and stops working after restore: something in the
device is bothering. You should try uninstalled the applications installed
lately until it begins to work again.

Is there any chance it could be a screw up in the registry? I found out my
kid was playing with it and was in the registry.

Thanks

It could be. But then, it would be almost impossible to see what he has
messed up with. Again, the HR would restore it to the original, and if this
is the problem the restore of the backup would mess it up again. So you
would know, and another HR, with further installation of your software from
scratch, would solve the issue.

Just a quick note. Turned out the Bios I upgraded to fryed my entire system.
I sent it back to HP who returned it fixed, and replaced a cracked cover for
no charge at all. Additionally the entire time out of my hands was about 72
hours. I am very very impresssed with HP's support in this.

And yes my Bluetooth is now working.
