I'm gonna use a crossover cable to connect two computers but they fairly far away from each other.
Does anyone know what's the max length for the cable without affecting the transfer speed at all?

An Ethernet cable (cat-5), by specification, can be used up to 100m between any two devices. This goes for straigh-through or cross-over cables.
